The Arsenal squad left London on July 13 for a 10-day preseason tour in the United States that will include friendly matches against Premier League foes Chelsea and Everton.
The summer trip, which also includes a match against MLS side Orlando City FC, is the Gunners’ first extended pre-season tour since 2019, as trips to America the last two years were postponed due to COVID-19.
Manager Mikel Arteta will bring 33 players to the States in preparation for a Premier League season that begins with an August 5 match at Crystal Palace. Prior to leaving, Arsenal had begun the preseason with a 5-1 win over Ipswich Town and a 5-3 victory at FC Nurnberg in Germany.
The U.S. tour begins in Baltimore, Maryland, with a couple days on the practice pitch before a match with Everton at M&T Bank Stadium on Saturday, July 16. Aside from the three games, the players will be continuing their new-season preparations with rigorous training sessions, while also taking the opportunity to meet local fans at various events dotted throughout the week-and-a-half trip, according to arsenal.com.
